Seasonal/garden pests in domestic premises
Garden pests include:

The council offers a service to treat garden pests. Service requests are responded to within five working days as noted under 'Public health pests' above.

Please note: we do not remove dead wasps nests

Honey bees are protected and under normal circumstances cannot be destroyed. If you think you have a honeybees nest, contact Merseyside Police, who will arrange for a bee keeper to visit and remove it. There is a charge for the treatment of wasps, bees (not honeybees) and ants, please check with Liverpool Direct for current rates.

Pest contracts
A full range of services can be provided to commercial and other non-domestic premises. Treatments can range from a one-off visit to annual contracts with regular programmed visits. Estimates of cost can be provided before treatment is carried out.

Hygiene Services
The team deals with the clearance and disinfestation of filthy and verminous premises, which are often vacant. A service is also available to remove accumulations of refuse which are providing harbourage for rodents from yards and gardens which can be secured when the work has been completed. A charge is made for this service.

Drains service/sewer treatments
We carry out tests on drains to identify defects, which could be contributing to rodent infestation. We can offer advice to owners as how best to deal with the problem. We carry out regular treatment of the city's sewer system to eradicate rodents giving priority to areas of the city that generate the most service requests. Animal warden service
Our service includes dealing with stray dogs. The dogs are collected or picked up off the streets and taken to the RSPCA animal shelter at Halewood.

There is a charge to reclaim your dog from the dogs' home and payment must be made at the RSPCA before your dog can be claimed. This charge is to cover the kennelling costs incurred by Liverpool City Council. There are no exemptions from this charge.
