Core Strategy Development Plan Document

Current production stage:  6. Consultation on Preferred Options Report

Liverpool City Council is working on a Core Strategy: a vision for the future in terms of the city's spatial structure and development. The Core Strategy will be the primary Development Plan Document (DPD) within the Local Development Framework. It will set the ground rules for future planning policies and neighbourhood plans, and reflect the principles contained within the city's Community Strategy.

The Core Strategy Preferred Options Report is being consulted on for 6 weeks from the 28th March until 9th May 2008.  The document and all supporting information (including the Sustainability Appraisal) are available to read and comment on on our new consultation website.  There is also a discussion forum where you can discuss issues relating to the Core Strategy with other people.  We would like to encourage people to make comments on the document during the consultation period using the online system where possible but a 'hard copy' response form is available and people can request electronic or hard copies of the document by contacting us by email, phone or post - contact details are below.  

Previously the Council carried out consultation on two documents relating to the Core Strategy: the Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report (April/May 2005) and the Issues and Options Paper which formed the basis for continuous community involvement throughout 2006 and 2007 culminating in a city wide programme of joint Core Strategy and Sustainable Community Strategy public participation events in November - December 2007. These documents can be downloaded by clicking on the relevant links at the base of this page, in addition to a number of supporting documents, reports and publications.
