With effect from 6th April, 2008, a new national standard planning application form will be used across the country, known as 1APP. These forms replace Liverpool City Council's planning application forms and any applications received on the old forms will not be accepted and will be deemed invalid. You can obtain paper versions of the new forms by downloading from the list below or by contacting us at 0151 233 3021.
Or you can apply for Planning permission online via the Planning Portal
You will also need to submit new information with your application. Details of these changes can be found on our Validation Checklists below.
Please make sure you have checked our validation checklist before submitting your application. If you do not send all the information we need, your application will be deemed invalid.
NEW - Householder Permitted Development
Some extensions and alterations to your home can be undertaken without requiring planning permission. This is known as permitted development. The regulations containing the full descriptions of works that can be done as permitted development are contained in The Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development Order) 1995 which were amended on 1st October 2008. for the Householder Permitted Development Leaflet, this summarises the alterations that Liverpool City Council consider householders can undertake under permitted development rights. Should you wish to submit an application form to formally clarify whether your proposal constitutes 'Permitted Development' you will need to apply on line via the Planning Portalor complete an application form 'HOUSEHOLDER CERTIFICATE OF PROPOSED LAWFULNESS' available below.
NEW - Planning permission extension forms available
New application forms to extend the time limits for existing planning permissions are now available to download below.
The changes will apply to all eligible consents and not just those for major development. It has also revised the proposed fees.
Discharge of Conditions Applications
The Government has introduced a fee and application form to approve matters covered by a condition (discharge of/compliance with conditions)

You may also need to apply for Building Regulation approval.
Please note we can supply Ordnance Survey site and location plans to accompany your planning application. These can be obtained from our reception at Millennium House - a standard A4, 1:1250 scale plan costs £20.
