Caught Doing Right
Liverpool City Council launches an exciting new initiative that will reward some of our many responsible dog owners.
Councillor Marilyn Fielding said, "We are tired of the unacceptable level of Dog Fouling on our streets that is not cleaned up by a minority of irresponsible dog owners, and we will be pursuing those who offend".
Councillor Fielding went on to say, "Whilst we do have irresponsible owners there are a great many more who respect their neighbourhood and clean up after their dog. I feel that it is very important that we recognise this fact and have introduced this free to enter prize draw".
The campaign will see a team of officers hit the streets today and over the next few weeks hoping to catch people doing the right thing!
Dog owners seen cleaning up after their dogs will be rewarded with praise postcards, which can be sent in for owners to have a chance of winning a years supply of dog food or one of the other top prizes. Unfortunately City Council employees will not be eligible to enter the competition
In recent citywide surveys 42% of residents questioned placed dog fouling as a major concern.
