Compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act by October 2004 to comply with accessible buildings and services for all disabled users. The council wants all public areas of its buildings to be accessible for all customers and in line with best practice we are in the process of assessing all of its building to ensure compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act. We are also radically re-designing the way our services are delivered and accessed, to minimise reliance on physical access to buildings.
Ensuring that the City Council's web pages are accessible to all and meet the relevant standards (Bobby and RNIB etc) by the summer of 2004.
The roll out of Disability Equality Training to all City Council staff.
