Emergency alarms - VNC lifeline

Increasing numbers of people want to remain safe and independent in their own homes, the VNC lifeline Service helps thousands of people throughout Merseyside achieve just that.

We can all feel vulnerable or at risk regardless of our age or personal circumstances. We could have an accident, suffer from serious illness, need support following a recent operation, feel threatened by an intruder or simply be lonely.

With modern technology, VNC lifeline can offer a fast, easy and reliable solution, enabling householders to summon help at the touch of a button, whatever the time of day or night.

The Lifeline system works either as a stand-alone unit which operates as a standard telephone or by connecting to your existing telephone.

The unit has a discreet personal radio trigger supported by a 24 hour monitoring service offering personal support seven days a week, 365 days a year.

When the button is pressed, the customer is within seconds connected to a trained operator at out monitoring centre. The operator will instantly know who is calling, where they all live and will be able to retrieve health and personal details about the caller.

These details include friends, relatives, neighbours, doctors and emergency services that can be called immediately if assistance is needed. The operator is also there to provide friendly support and reassurance at any time of the day or night.

All that is needed to use the VNC lifeline Service is a telephone line and power point nearby. There is a one-off installation fee of £10, then for as little as £2.99 per week (free in certain circumstances).

VNC Lifeline will provide a lightweight personal call button (Amie) which is usually worn on a neck-cord, clipped to clothing or can be worn on a wristband, as well as a specially adapted Telephone or Portal unit for emergency use.

The Lifeline system is also capable of supporting a number of other Telecare products such as Smoke Alarms, Intruder Detectors, Bogus Caller Buttons and Falls Monitor.
