Available Housing - Choice Based Lettings (Housing Allocations)
The City runs a choice based lettings scheme, called Propertypool, with fifteen Registered Social Landlords in Liverpool. The idea is to offer people who want to rent affordable housing more choice over the property and area they would like to live in.
Property Pool lists empty properties from a range of landlords all in one place. This is better than the old system when customers would have had to visit or apply to each housing providers.
Through Propertypool, social housing is let in accordance with a City-wide Allocations Policy. This Policy identifies the order in which priority is given to the individual applicant.
The City Council has reviewed the current Policy and has taken into account its legal requirements as well as local issues to make sure the Policy is fair and open. The changes were approved by the City Council on 15 October 2008 and came into effect on Monday 19 January 2009.
