ADAPTATIONS
To receive assistance for adapting your home, you need to be:
- aged 60 or over; and
- must be waiting for or have applied for Occupational Therapist assessment.
Our Adaptation Team carries out this work. It is also supervised by a Community Occupational Therapist.
The team is staffed by qualified tradespeople and support staff. They have all the necessary transport, materials and other resources needed. This means you will not be charged for this type of work.
The things that can be done for you are:-
- easing of doors and window frames;
- removal of tripping hazards;
- re-siting of furniture;
- replacement of tap washers;
- clearing sink waste;
- any other small job considered to be "reasonable".
The scheme is also on offer to people in hospital or people have recently been discharged from hospital and who need minor adaptations such as bath seats and grab rails.
We are here to help, so if you think you can benefit from this offer, if you qualify - or wish to know if you qualify - then please ring our Council Careline Service on 0151 233 3800.
