Placement details
Each placement offered by the city council has a job description which gives all the necessary information about that placement. Managers decide which school their placement will go to and the job description is then given to the Work Experience Co-ordinator for that school.
School students must book placements through their School Work Experience Co-ordinator. Once a placement has been booked, the school students details are passed on to the council via Liverpool Compact.
The school student will receive confirmation of the placement in advance and be given a job description by their School Work Experience Co-ordinator. Most placements require school students to undertake a Pre Placement Visit. This is an informal meeting which gives the school student the opportunity to meet their supervisor and ask any questions they may have. Contact details for the supervisor will be stated on the job description. It is the responsibility of the school student to make contact with the supervisor of your placement.
Placements can be based within any of the councils portfolio's and in any of the council's buildings. All placements have undergone Health & Safety assessments.
