Because of the Equal Opportunities Public Review, the Council made a commitment to providing a specific resource to improve the development and implementation of equal opportunities.
The Equal Opportunities Service is a corporate resource. We work with all service areas to improve access to services and opportunities.
We want to:
- Improve service provision for disadvantaged groups
- Improve access to services
- Assist other service areas to work effectively with the community
- Inform and develop the workforce to promote equal opportunity
- Manage and communicate the council's performance on equality
