There are 23 libraries in Liverpool. The largest is the Central Library in the City Centre. There are 22 smaller community libraries spread across the city.

A mobile library service is also available, which serves over ninety locations in the city.

Mobile and home library services

Two housebound delivery vans and one mobile library operate across the city. The Home Library Service operates 9-5 Mon-Friday and is available to people who because of health or disability are unable to use a library

We deliver books, large print books, Spoken word CD's and cassettes and Videos and serve people in their own home, in sheltered accommodation and in nursing homes, day centres, etc.

The Mobile Library concentrates on areas of social exclusion or where there is no easily accessible community library and also serves sheltered housing, nursing homes nurseries and schools.

The service operates Monday-Friday and length of stay at site varies from 30 minutes to 2.5 hours.
