Liverpool City Council - public records

Liverpool Record Office and Local History Library

ANNUAL CLOSURE

In order to progress essential work on archives and local studies materials we regret that there will be no public access to the service other than by postal, telephone and e-mail enquiry from Monday 16 June to Sunday 29 June 2008.

We apologise for any inconvenience which this might cause.

We have a vast resource of information covering the fascinating history of the City dating from the 13th century to the present.

These include archives of the City Council and its predecessors, schools, churches, families, businesses and societies, books, maps, watercolours and unique photographs to help you find out about the history of your family, house, street, district, famous Liverpool people, landmarks and events.

Deposits and donations of material are always welcome and we are happy to offer advice on how to look after your own records.

Visitors are welcome to bring their own camera to obtain copies of documents for personal use only. Anyone intending to publish images from our collections must obtain permission from the Manager.

Search the archive catalogue.
