Liverpool in Print
Liverpool in Print is a joint project between the Liverpool Record Office and the School of History, University of Liverpool. It is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. Liverpool in Print builds on the collaboration that produced the major anniversary history, Liverpool 800: Culture, Character and History, edited by John Belchem in 2006.
The project had two main aims:
- to computerise the unique local studies sheaf catalogue, a resource collected over decades by the city's specialist librarians.
- to build on the Liverpool 800 experience with finding guides, commentaries and essays that identify the most important historical writing aboutLiverpool
Liverpool in Print was directed by John Belchem, Professor of History, and David Stoker, Manager of Liverpool Record Office. The project team consisted of Andrew Cheney (Catalogue Editor), Graeme Milne (Research Editor), and the data-entry staff who are building the catalogue, Paul Bruce, Jeanette Fry, Bernadette Kay and Helen Pickavance.
The catalogue is now complete and available atwww.liverpoolinprint.org.uk
