Following a £1.3m Big Lottery funded refurbishment, Toxteth Library will be publicly re-launched on Wednesday 17th February 2010.

Leader of Liverpool City Council Warren Bradley will be attending Toxteth Library between 4.00pm and 4.30pm to offically mark the occasion.

A packed programme of community events has been planned in and around Toxteth Library from 1.00pm through to 8.00pm, Wednesday 17th February 2010

There will be a rich mixture of;

  • learning taster events,

  •  story telling,

  • face painting,

  • readings and health and well-being activities

  • all will help to reflect the diverse cultures to be found within the local community.

The community activity programme is called Through The Eye Of The Tiger and will also help to usher in the Chinese New Year and celebrates Toxteth Library's well established links to the Chinese Community. (800 Chinese customers use the Toxteth Library Chinese language collection and Shanghai Libraries have recently donated 500 new books under the Window of Shanghai project)
