Liverpool Marriage Indexes On-Line - see the foot of this page!

In recent years there has been an increase in family history research, in trying to trace ancestors, relationships and events in the Liverpool area during the last 160 years or so.

If your family came from Liverpool, you can find out about your family history at the Liverpool Register Office. Copies of Birth, Marriage or Death Certificates from the period 1837 to the present day are available by post or by personal visit.

Family researchers, professional genealogists and probate companies now account for up to 25% of the requests we receive for copy certificates or other historical information.
Family historians may be interested in a list of other Family History Research Sites.

Newly available - in partnership with the Liverpool, Manchester and Lancashire Family History Societies - a further 85,540 Liverpool Marriage Index entries added to the 407,529 previous entries.
During 2004, in partnership with the Manchester and Lancashire Family History Society, and with direct volunteer assistance from the Liverpool Family History Society, a new batch of Liverpool's marriage indexes was added to the LancashireBMD web-site.
We are working our way back to 1837.  Further marriage entries will be released as soon as we have them available.
Access the LancashireBMD site directly.

You can now purchase a family history scroll from the Liverpool Register Office (cost £5).  Please make cheques/postal orders payable to Liverpool City Council. To view an example of the Family History scroll (please click).
