An Appeal from The Friends of Belle Vale Park

The Friends of Belle Vale have been accepted onto the Liverpool Echo's Wish Token list.  For eight weeks from 15th February to 9th April there will be tokens every night in the Echo every night - a chance to raise money for the group.  The more tokens that are collected, the more money the Friends will get, from the £50,000 pot of money being shared by all the entrants.  Please collect tokens and then hand them in at the Millennium Centre.

Thank You!

Belle Vale Park

Belle Vale Park is located at the heart of a densely populated community in the outer suburbs of Liverpool. One of the city's smaller modern landscapes, the only public open space in this outer suburb, providing a valuable setting for a range of recreational and cultural facilities for local residents. This highly accessible 21st century park is situated at the heart of the District Centre which it serves.  Areas of grassland with stands of mature trees, a children's play area, multi use game court and informal football and tennis provision, are surrounded by the local shopping centre, supermarket, fast food outlet, and the Millennium centre. The centre houses many community facilities including a library, sports club, Youth Angling Project, community and internet café, community meeting and training rooms, and a laundrette. The centre is in use seven days a week including many evenings. To the front and facing onto the park is a plaza which links the park and the centre together and is being developed as a focal point where people can meet and events take place.  To develop the educational and recreational links between the community and the park, Rangers, Grounds Maintenance and Parks teams are working on projects with the community to enhance and promote Belle Vale Park with the addition of horticultural features, an ecological wetland area, and, the development of a woodland understory.

Belle Vale is a great local Park, a kind of 'village green', and focus for the community, right next to the Millennium Centre.  It was awarded a Green Flag for the quality and management of the Park.  The Park has an active Friends Group.  The Friends hold events during the year and 'keep an eye' on the Park, heloping with its management.  The Friends have published a leaflet about Belle Vale Park, available from the Millennium Centre.
