External Funding
The Policy and Development Team accesses funding from various external agencies:
Objective 1
Objective 1 funding is part of a European Union Scheme, which provides additional funds across Merseyside. The support comes from either the:
European Regional Development Fund (EDRF) for capital expenditure - land or building acquisition, site clearance, construction, renovation, plant and machinery; or
European Social Fund (ESF) for revenue costs, mainly for training and job support services.
National Lottery Fund
The money is for projects that will have lasting community benefits. The range of projects eligible for this fund is wide but they must all be capital projects i.e. construction, land buying, upgrading etc. Projects such as pitches, sports halls, swimming pools, bowling greens, jetties, slipways etc. qualify for funding.
The team works with local communities to assist in the development of community centres by providing advice and facilitate collaboration and co-operation between all potential stakeholders.
