Ranger service
The role of the Ranger is mainly to educate, inform and entertain, providing hundreds of public events through the year and working with educational groups. Our role also covers developing and maintaining links with local communities and also working on conservation projects involving trees and woodlands, lakes, wildlife, horticulture, natural and local history. We are the first point of contact with the Parks and Environment Division for most users of our Parks and so have a role in being 'ambassadors' for our greenspaces, helping communities to value, respect and appreciate our green heritage.
Working with teachers on National Curriculum key stages 1, 2 & 3 we take children into the parks and woodlands, using parks as outdoor classrooms, where you will see children looking for mini-beasts, pond life, studying seasonal changes and how it affects their lives and the environment in which they live.
The service offers a wide range of educational, interpretational, instructive walks, talks and organised community events and events for all ages, the majority of which are free of charge. Details of the hundreds of events run by the Rangers are available below.
Promoting the city's green spaces together with the study of seasonal changes in plants and trees all contribute toward a deeper, and longer lasting appreciation of the environment in which we live and our children will inherit.

Events
The Ranger Service runs events and activities in Liverpool's parks and green spaces. These, together with other major events in our Parks, are published in a guide, obtainable from the Rangers (you can go on our mailing list) by contacting park.rangers@liverpool.gov.uk, or calling 0151 233 3007.
There are around 2000 events run in Liverpool Parks every year, making our Parks the City's most important events 'venue'.

Some events take place every day, at different Parks around the City. To save repetition on the monthly lists, these are available as a seperate Regular Events list.
