Executive Board
The Executive Board is the part of the council responsible for most day-to-day decisions.
It is made up of the Council Leader and a cabinet of councillors, known as 'Executive Members'.
Meetings of the Executive Board are open to the public, except where, for example, personal or confidential matters are being discussed.
When major decisions are to be discussed or made, these are published in the Council Leader's Forward Plan as far as they can be anticipated.
The Executive Board has to make decisions in line with the council's overall policies and budget. If it wishes to make a decision which is outside this framework, it must refer it to the council as a whole.
