Executive Management Team
The council is managed by the Executive Management Team, led by Chief Executive Colin Hilton.
They work with Council Leader Warren Bradley and Liverpool's other city councillors, to deliver the strategic direction and priorities set by elected members.
They work particularly closely with councillors on the executive board and with a leadership team made up of assistant executive directors and senior managers.
The council has three executive directors, each responsible for one of the council's three priorities:

His areas include regeneration, planning, building control and Culture Liverpool - the department set up to build on the legacy of Capital of Culture.
John was previously assistant executive director (policy and programmes) in Regeneration and has also worked for the Department of the Environment and Transport and the regional development agency.
Cath Green - Executive Director for Community Services
Cath is responsible for delivering aim 2 of the council's key priorities: Developing our communities
Her areas include housing, neighbourhood management, community safety, the environment and the Youth Offending Service.
She has spent a quarter of a century working for local government in public and private sector housing and physical and neighbourhood regeneration programmes and previously worked for councils in Salford and Rochdale.

Stuart Smith - Executive Director for Children, Adults and Family Services
Stuart started out his working life as a teacher. He trained in Liverpool and landed his first job in 1982, teaching English to secondary pupils in Toxteth. After that he worked for six different local authorities, before coming back to the city, first as Assistant Executive Director for Education.
Stuart has a Masters in education management and is especially interested in finding ways to support vulnerable pupils and help them achieve.
The other officers on the Executive Management Team are:Ben Dolan - Assistant Chief Executive
Ben is responsible for the council's relations with its partners such as Liverpool Direct and Enterprise Liverpool.
He is also the council's health and safety champion and works to promote a positive safety culture in the council and ensuring that health, safety and wellbeing are integrated into all elements of the council's business.
He's been with the council for more than 35 years and has held a wide variety of senior and chief officer roles, more recently within Regeneration as the interim executive director.
Robert Corbett - City Treasurer
Robert Corbett is the City treasurer and is responsible for overseeing the council's finances as well as risk management and audit.
He has been in local government since 1973 and has been with the council since 1987.
Paul Evans - City Solicitor
Paul Evans is responsible for legal services, elections and communications.
He came to Liverpool in 2009 from Doncaster Council where he was Director of Legal and Democratic Services.
He studied law at Sheffield University, carried out his finals at Manchester University and trained at Oldham Council.
