The directors that make up the Executive Management Team each have specific responsibility for a particular portfolio (or group) of council services.
Stuart Smith
Stuart Smith has specific responsibility for corporate parenting including foster care and adoption, plus schools, lifelong learning, libraries, leisure centres and sport. The father-of-two joined Liverpool City Council from Calderdale Borough Council in 2001. He has strong links with Liverpool, having taught English and PE at Shorefields Comprehensive in Toxteth after graduating in the city in the early 1980's. He was also a senior youth worker in Speke.
Cath Green
Interim Executive Director - Community Services
Cath Green has specific responsibility for adult social care, community safety, housing and supported living, and youth offending services.

Executive Director - Regeneration
John's portfolio covers a wide range of services including regional policy, planning, estates, economic development, transport, highways, environmental maintenance, street cleaning, refuse collection, grounds maintenance and parks.
