City leaders

Councillor Warren Bradley - Leader
Cllr Bradley was elected in May 2000, originally representing the Church Ward and moving to the Wavertree Ward in 2004. He has been involved in local politics for most of his life, and both of his parents were city councillors.
He was born and brought up in Liverpool, and is married to Pauline with two children, Daniel and Emily.
For more than two decades he has worked as an operational fire fighter for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service.
In his spare time he runs a junior football team - Mosspits Wanderers, and enjoys watching Everton FC.
As Leader of the City Council, Cllr Bradley is responsible for the city's economic renaissance, vision and inward investment.
In 2006 he was announced as the 'Business Champion' for the City by the private sector City Growth Board, and he has been instrumental in creating a positive, business-friendly environment in the city.
He serves on a number of boards driving forward regeneration in the city, including Liverpool Vision, the Mersey Partnership, Liverpool Direct Limited, North West Vision and the city's Arena and Convention Centre, and is also a board member of the Royal Philharmonic Society.

Colin Hilton CBE - Chief Executive
Born in Merseyside, Colin graduated from the University of Wales and taught for 10 years in Bridgend, Coventry and the USA.
He worked for Buckinghamshire, Knowsley and St Helens Councils before coming to Liverpool in October 1999 as Executive Director for Education. He oversaw a huge turnaround in the service with massive improvements in examination results and a PFI rebuilding programme which saw the city's most rundown primary schools replaced. He became Chief Executive in 2006.
Colin is a director of the Regional Broadband Consortium for ICT, was Chair of Liverpool Children and Young Peoples Partnership and a governor of Liverpool Community College.
In the January 2006 New Year Honours he was awarded the CBE for services to education.
