Industrial action - updated !
National industrial action will cause disruption to a number of council services on 16th and 17th July.
The walkout by members of UNISON and UNITE across the country will mean a number of buildings will close and some services will not operate.
A council spokesman said: "We have put in place contingency plans to provide as many services as possible during the two day strike, particularly those which affect vulnerable people. However, it is inevitable that there will be some disruption, for which the city council apologises."
Please note this action may also affect services that are not listed below.

Collections of white goods and household items that have been booked through the Bulky Bob service will not be affected.
Waste Recycling Centres
Merseyside Waste Disposal Authority (MWDA) will not be operating any of its 14 Household Waste Recycling Centres, including the Otterspool Centre.
The Centres will be closed from 8.00 pm on Tuesday 15th July and will reopen at 8.00 am on Friday 18th July.
For more information on Household waste Reception Centre operations, please visit the Merseyside Waste Disposal Authority website.
Day centres and homecare services
All 13 day centres operated by supported living will be shut, and the home care service will be restricted to those in most need, although staff will be on standby to help if assistance is needed in an emergency. All of those affected have been notified.
Schools and nurseries
It is expected that at least 16 schools and nurseries will be fully closed due to the industrial action, and another 11 partially shut. This represents 15 percent of the total number of schools in Liverpool, and the parents of children affected will have been informed by the headteacher.
