Communication during emergencies
How the Emergency Services will communicate to you during a major emergency.
During most major emergencies and particularly chemical related major emergencies, the initial instructions from the emergency services is for residents in an affected area to:
GO IN - STAY IN - TUNE IN
- Go immediately indoors
- Close all windows
- Avoid cellars and basements
- Stay in a room away from the industrial area
Keep tuned to the radio station, regular updates will be given including the "all clear" once the major emergency is over.
