Liverpool volunteer project - Chance to change lives

Citysafe (Liverpool's Crime and Reduction Partnership) are funding in partnership Liverpool's Youngaddaction's `Volunteer Project', supporting their main principle of: `More workers available, more treatment provided`.

Leading treatment charity, 'Addaction' offers support for children and young people dealing with substance misuse.  It also provides necessary help and support for individuals and families dealing with drug and alcohol misuse at over 70 projects in the UK.

`Youngaddaction'are offering Liverpool communities the opportunity to explore this field gaining beneficial, 'Experience, Training and Insight', offering the possibility of securing a job working within the substance misuse field.

Liverpool's Youngaddaction Service promises a wide variety of placements for numerous agencies including, 'Sanctuary', 'The Big Issue in the North' and 'Project 8'.  The initial intake of volunteers will begin their placements mid February 2006 and have already begun their training. 

Nick Evans, project manager for Youngaddaction Liverpool, said: 'We are excited to see this new opportunity for both clients and providers take shape and believe it will have a very positive impact on communities in Liverpool."
