Respect week of action - Tuebrook and Stoneycroft

Liverpool has been identified as one of the initial 43 'Respect Action Areas' across the country. Respect is a government initiative to develop and build a stronger and more co-ordinated approach to tackle anti-social behaviour and associated problems. At the heart of the campaign is a commitment to provide local agencies and communities with the powers and tools to effectively deal with anti-social behaviour at a local level.
The initiative in Stoneycroft and Tuebrook which ran from Monday 14th May to Sunday 20th May had been organised by Citysafe partners including Liverpool City Council, Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service, Health Service (PCT), local social housing providers and many others. The initiative was designed to tackle issues of concern for the local community, including:
Crime and anti-social behaviour
Improving attendance amongst pupils
Reducing litter and fly tipping/vandalism/graffiti
Improving the green environment
Dog fouling/dangerous dogs
Helping young people make a positive contribution to their local
Communities and to the wider society
Derelict and vacant properties
Educational, employment and training opportunities
Smoking, alcohol and substance misuse
Disposal of household furniture and white goods
Respect 'Weeks of Action' will take place across Liverpool within neighbourhoods throughout the coming year.
