Operation Dog Safe
Liverpool City Council's Citywatch Patrol and Response team have been working in partnership with Merseyside Police, the RSPCA and other agencies for some time to tackle the issues around Anti Social Behaviour and dogs. In particular dogs being allowed by their owners, to cause alarm and distress to others or worse still actually setting the dogs on people or other animals.
During the past year Citywatch officers have worked on joint operations in Liverpool's Parks with Merseyside Police to reassure the public, to warn dog owners and to remove any banned dogs. The operation has proved successful in gathering intelligence and educating dog owners of their responsibilities. Officers from City Watch and Merseyside Police will continue to work closely to tackle this problem.
