Liverpool City Council - patrol

Patrol and response

The City Watch Patrol and Response Service provides a professional high visible mobile and foot patrols across the whole of the city.

This service has been provided across the city for over a century from the establishment of the parks police service to the current City Watch Service providing the exacting standards and integrity demanded by the city.

Liverpool City Council occupies more premises in the city than any other commercial or industrial concern, and has more areas of park and open space than any council outside of London.  Therefore the protection and security of these premises and public spaces requires a totally professional service from an experienced organisation.

The staff are trained to higher standards than the industry minimum requirement and all Patrol and Response drivers undergo a safer driver assessment as part of their personal development.

The Officers respond to incidents reported/recorded including alarm activations, (intruder, fire, personal attack), requests for assistance from members of the public, and provide programmed patrols across the city's parks and open spaces, cemeteries and all council buildings and premises.

The mobile patrols check premises and act as a potential deterrent to would-be intruders.  They also prevent minor problems developing into more serious disruption such as extensive flood damage or devastation from a carelessly discarded cigarette.  Over the years, mobile patrols have prevented such damage and have been commended on their dedication to duty.
