LAGRAH is a multi-agency forum and one of Citysafe's subgroups.

LAGRAH aims to:

  • Contribute to the effective combating of racist crime through multi-agency work
  • Increase the confidence of members of black and minority ethnic communities in Liverpool by strengthening the response of the criminal justice system to racist behaviour.

Some initiatives that LAGRAH is involved in include:

  • The development of a Criminal Justice Live Cases subgroup in which information and intelligence about defendants and victims are shared around the table by different agencies.  This can often help in securing anti-social behaviour orders or preparation of court cases.
  • The development of an anti-arson package for victims or potential victims of racist attacks, led by the Merseyside Fire Service
  • Provision of attack alarms to potential victims
