Violent crime

Citysafe logo

Citysafe aims to reduce robbery and violent crime. We are focusing on two main strands of violent crime;

  • alcohol related violence and
  • gang / firearm related violence.

Over the next three years we intend to address violent crime by:

  • Increasing support for victims of violence
  • Increasing the successful prosecution and deterrence of violent offenders
  • Improving environments through enhanced design including street lighting so that they are less conducive to violent offending.

To reduce robbery we have developed prevention measures to protect vulnerable victims and locations. Dedicated robbery vehicles respond to robbery incidents to ensure effective recording and initial investigation of the incident as well as to target key threats.
