Alcohol

Citysafe, in partnership with Liverpool Primary Care Trusts, is responsible for tackling alcohol harm of which the North West of England bears a disproportionate burden second only to the North East.
Based on the Alcohol Harm Reduction Strategy for England the Liverpool Strategy aims to reduce alcohol harm in Liverpool by effective partnership working across the public, private and voluntary sectors. We will be seeking to:
- create a cultural change through promoting knowledge and safe drinking concepts
- promote healthy lifestyles
- create a safe and vibrant environment for the responsible consumption of alcohol and its alternatives
- provide a robust model of care for those affected by alcohol misuse, and
- reduce levels of crime and disorder associated with irresponsible alcohol consumption.
The objectives of the strategy will be delivered through the Alcohol Strategy Group chaired by Soraya Meah, Assistant Director of Public Health.
