How long does it take to get a certificate?
If you apply in person at the Register Office for copy certificates for day-to-day use, they will be issued 48 working hours later.
Postal applications for day-to-day certificates are processed within 5 working days.
Certificates for family history research are processed within 14 working days (just under 3 weeks). This could be less or more, depending upon the time of year and the demand for other certificates.
At present we are not able to accept telephone applications.
