 Certificates FAQ

How long does it take to get a certificate?

If you apply in person at the Register Office for copy certificates for day-to-day use, they will be issued 24 working hours later.

During very busy periods this time for issue may stretch to 48 hours.

Postal applications for day-to-day certificates are processed within 5 working days.

Certificates for family history research are processed within 2 to 3 weeks or less, depending upon the time of year and the demand for other certificates.

At present we are not able to accept telephone applications.
