Customer service standards

Liverpool Register Office is committed to placing the customer at the heart of everything we do.  We believe that we can best serve our customers by communicating honestly and openly with them and with our colleagues. 

Whatever the reason for a visit to the Register Office customers can expect a polite welcome upon arrival and a professional and efficient service.  All registrations and enquires are dealt with sensitively and fairly.

Performance standards

Liverpool Register Office monitors its performance monthly and yearly against the following standards

General Certificates 

  • Number of certificates issued by post and over the counter 
  • Number of counter certificates issued within the quoted time of 48 working hours 
                        

Family History

  • Number of certificates issued for family history purposes 
  • Number of family history searches conducted resulting in no certificate being produced 
                        

Registrations 

  • Number of birth registrations 
  • Number of death registrations 
  • Number of stillbirth registrations 
  • Number of re-registrations of births 
                        

Marriages 

  • Number of notices of marriage 
  • Number of ceremonies held at the Cotton Exchange 
  • Number of ceremonies held at approved premises 
                        

Civil Partnerships

  • Number of notices of civil partnership 
  • Number of ceremonies/registrations held at the Cotton Exchange 
  • Number of ceremonies/registrations held at approved premises 
                        

Appointments

  • Number of customers attending by appointment 
  • Number of customers with an appointment, after arriving on time, waiting more than 10 minutes 
  • Number of customers failing to attend appointments 
  • Number of customers attending without an appointment 
  • Number of customers attending without an appointment waiting more than 60 minutes
