Liverpool City Council - social inclusion

Social Inclusion

People with learning disabilities in Liverpool should be part of the mainstream life of our city.

Whilst some are, too many are not and face life at the margins of society, with little prospect of a job, a decent income or a healthy life. The new Planning for Social Inclusion document sets out how we intend to change this.

This document is centred on the needs of people with learning disabilities and their carers. They have been fully involved in drawing up this plan. It reflects how important such areas as employment, education and leisure are in providing inclusive opportunities for people with learning disabilities.
