Our regeneration partners FAQ
What is Urban Renewal?
Urban renewal is the rebuilding of areas of our towns and cities. As buildings become old and outdated, many may be left empty for many years. Local authorities now have teams who job is to work with buildings owners and potential developers to find money to help find new uses for those buildings, or else to knock them down and replace them with new buildings which people will want to live or work in.
What is a Local Strategic Partnership?
A Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) is a single non-statutory, multi-agency body, which matches local authority boundaries. It aims to bring together, at a local level, the different parts of the public, private, community and voluntary sectors.
LSPs are key to tackling problems such as poverty within communities. Sorting these problems often means getting a range of people and organisations to work together. Local agencies, businesses and community and voluntary groups form an LSP. Together, they make many of the major decisions about priorities for their local area.
