 Parking FAQ

What are the parking Enforcement hours for single yellow lines

Single Yellow lines are under enforcement during the times shown or the associated timeplates. Within controlled parking zones the times are shown on entry signs as there is no requirement for a timeplate. Motorist's park on a single yellow line at their own risk, and if you wish to challenge the PCN then you must put your challenge in writing to Parking Services, for them to decide if issued incorrectly.

How can I pay my parking fine?

You can pay your parking fine on line
You can also make your payment through the Cash Office in the City Centre one-stop shop in Liverpool or by calling Liverpool Direct on 233 3011.

How much are parking fines and what happens if I don't pay?

There are two fine levels of £70.00 and £50.00 (dependent upon the contravention that has occured), and they are set at this level to discourage people from doing it again. However, if it's paid within 14 days form the date of issue of the penalty charge, it drops by half to £35 and £25 respectively. If it's not paid and we have to contact the owner of the vehicle, then it could rise to as much as £105.00 or £75.00 respectively. The fines are enforceable and steps will be taken through the county court to recover the money. The fine at its final state before going to bailiff would be £110.00 at the higher rate and ££80.00 at the lower rate. If the case goes to bailiff then obviously the costs incurred increase dramatically.
