Liverpool City Council - parking fines

Parking Fines (PCNs)

Parking Fines (PCNs)

In July 2002 the issuing of parking fines was passed from the Police to the Council. Our aim is to manage Liverpool's on-street and off-street parking through effective enforcement in order to improve conditions for people living and working in the city.

We try to target illegal, inconsiderate and dangerous parking so that we can improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists.

If you park where there are yellow lines or other restrictions you may be issued a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN). The amount of the penalty charge may vary depending on the type of contravention you have committed. The higher penalty charge is set at £70.00, and the lower charge is set at £50.00. However if you pay within 14 days this will be reduced to half the amount ( £35.00 and £25.00 respectively). A list of the contravention codes is attached below. This will indicate to whether the offence falls in to the higher penalty charge rate, or the lower.
