Liverpool City Council - Liverpool Central Station Redevelopment

Liverpool Central Station redevelopment

Central Station is one of the main entry points to the City Centre and around 40,000 passengers use the station each day.  This number is likely to rise in the next few years.

A study made in 2001 found that work is needed to increase capacity of the station and its platforms.   Disabled access to the station also needs to be improved.  We are now drawing up outline designs and cost options, and work on this scheme will continue in the second Local Transport Plan (LTP) period between 2006 and 2011.
