Liverpool South Parkway
Liverpool South Parkway is a new station which replaces the old Allerton and Garston rail stations. A frequent shuttle bus runs from the station to Liverpool John Lennon Airport, linking it with rail services from across Merseyside, the North of England and the Midlands. It also has bus and taxi stops and a Park-and-Ride car park. The new station is safe and secure, with CCTV and customer information systems.
The roof of the new station is made from recycled aluminium. The station also has its own rainwater collection system, which will help to reduce energy costs. The station has already picked up awards for its design and use of building techniques, and for the role it will play in transporting local people to the 11,000 new jobs planned as part of the regeneration of the Speke and Garston Pathway areas.
