Liverpool City Council - A506 Longmoor Lane Route Action Plan

How we hope to improve the A506 route

Why the A506

  • The A506 route stretches from the Black Bull junction to Liverpool's boundary with Knowsley.

  • Of all major traffic routes across the city, the A506 has one of the highest numbers of people killed or seriously injured per kilometre length over 4 people have been Killed or Seriously Injured in a collision per kilometre of road length.

  • Along this route our Road Safety Engineering Team have identified a number of issues for improvement such as poor pedestrian crossing facilities, faded road markings, parking abuse, speeding at certain locations, large road widths and traffic congestion.

  • Schemes will be delivered in phases between 2008 and 2011.Details and drawings of these will be available at a later date on this site.
