Street repairs
We have a duty to make sure all adopted roads and footpaths are properly looked after and safe to use. To do this we carry out safety inspections of all roads and footpaths at regular intervals throughout the year to check for any hazards.
We inspect major roads and walking routes such as the main city centre retail area every month and inspect residential areas once a year.
If we find a hazard such as a deep pothole or missing manhole cover during our inspections we will make it safe within 2 hours. This type of work is called "reactive maintenance".
We also have a schedule of 'routine maintenance' to deal with any other problems that we may identify. This maintenance work is usually done within 25 days.
You can now report defects online, or via Liverpool Direct on 0151 233 3001.
Street Furniture
All street furniture is inspected as part of a regular Safety Inspection Regime. Any missing or damaged signs are replaced as necessary.
