Welcome to the Liverpool Adult Learning Service (ALS) and Learn in Liverpool , the web pages of  our Service.

Please feel free to browse through our pages.  We hope you find what you are looking for and are able to come and join us at a centre near you.

What do we do?

We offer hundreds of adult education courses at different levels and in a wide range of subject areas, including: 

  • Personal Development courses,
  • Skills for Life (language, literacy, brush up maths and numeracy),
  • Creative Writing & Literature,
  • Skills for Work,
  • GCSE's AS Level and academic subjects,
  • Languages, Computers (from total beginners through to ITQ),
  • Art, Craft & Cookery,
  • Performing Arts & Sport,
  • Health (holistic therapies and keeping mobile),
  • Family Learning, History,
  • Early Years (including NVQ's) there's something for everybody.

We can also design courses to suit the needs and requirements of individuals and employers.

Where do we do it?

We deliver courses all over Liverpool in daytime and evening learning centres, libraries and community venues across the city, so you should be able to find the right course for you near to where you live.

The new Academic year begins with an Information & Enrolment week throughout the week beginning 8th September.

As part of our Service to you we provide the Information for Learners Booklet (PDF [373.6Kb] opens in new window).  This helps you understand the partnership we value between our service and you the learner.
