Consumer Direct
Consumer Direct handle initial telephone enquiries about consumer advice issues such as faulty goods or services on behalf of Liverpool Trading Standards.
If you need advice on more complex consumer advice issues or need to make a complaint, Consumer Direct will refer these to the council's consumer advice section, part of Liverpool Trading Standards.
The Consumer Direct website tells you all you need to know about your rights as a consumer and how to deal with consumer problems. Alternatively, we have produced a number of guidance leaflets which you can download below.

Still unsure of your rights?
The Consumer Direct website and our guidance leaflets should provide all the help and advice you need about how to deal with consumer issues. However, if you do need further assistance, you can:
- Contact us. You can either make an appointment to speak face to face with an advisor or you can get advice over the phone or online.
Please note that we can only deal with consumer advice requests from Liverpool residents or businesses. If you do not live in Liverpool, please contact your own local authority.
