Major highway schemes
Liverpool is a city on the up and over the next few years you will see major improvements in a number of key areas across the city, as part of the City Centre Movement Strategy. During this time, certain roads will be affected by the works being carried out and we will keep this page updated.
Roads affected by works/events
Anson Street / Pembroke Place, L3
Building maintenance works by TM Safety Solutions will result in lane restrictions around the junction on 13th May between the hours of 6am and 1pm.
Ashfield Road at Bundoran Road, L17
United Utility works to repair a collapsed sewer will be undertaken under a full road closure from 14th May to 10th June.
Banks Road / Window Lane, L24
Scottish Power works to rectify an electricity cable fault will mean 4-way temporary traffic signals from 11th to 14th May.
Bowring Park Road / Gleneagles Road, L14
United Utilities will be undertaking a trial hole under lane restrictions from the 16th May to the 22nd May.
Byrom Street / Scotland Road, L3
Enterprise-Liverpool road marking works will be carried out under lane restrictions on 13th May.
Canning Street, L1 / L8
United Utilities sewer repair works from 14th May until 17th June will mean lane restrictions at the junction with Catherine Street.
Copperas Hill at Hawke Street, L1
Scottish Power will be undertaking a road crossing under 3-way temporary traffic signals from 12th to 13th May.
Derby Road, L5
Highway reconstruction works by Mansell Construction to the frontage of the Bankhall Fire Station will mean off-peak lane restrictions from 21st May to 3rd June.
Edge Lane West, L7
Improvement works between Botanic Road and Hall Lane substantially complete and clear of major traffic management, however, periodically Birse will be required to undertake minor highway works under off peak lane restrictions until the end of May 2012.
Kingsley Road, L8
Footway works and creation of a new vehicular access will be carried out by King Construction under off-peak 2-way temporary traffic signals from 14th to 31st May.
Mackets Lane / Halewood Road, L25 / L26
The North West Gas Alliance are continuing with gas main renewal works until the 25th May. This will be carried out under temporary traffic signals.
Naylors Road at Caldway Drive, L27
The Gas Alliance will be carrying out gas main renewal works under 3 & 4-way temporary traffic signals from 14th to 18th May and 21st May to 1st June.
Park Road, L8
Fulcrum will be carrying out new gas connection works on the inbound section between Upper Park Street and Northumberland Street under lane restrictions on the 12th, 19th and 26th May.
Prescot Road / Fairfield Street, L7
United Utilities will be undertaking a trial hole under lane restrictions from the 8th to 13th May.
Prescot Road / Green Lane, L13
Enterprise-Liverpool will be carrying out significant junction improvement works under lane restrictions and temporary traffic signals from the 21st May to 30th June. (*Works will be suspended and route clear of traffic management for the Olympic Torch Relay on 1st June).
Rice Lane, L9
BT works to rectify a cable fault have resulted in lane restrictions between Hornby Road and Orrell Lane until 13th May.
Speke Road / Speke Boulevard, L24
Scottish Power cabling works will be carried out under lane restrictions until 14th May.
Temple Street, L2
Fujitsu will be undertaking manhole repairs from the 28th May to the 30th May under a temporary road closure.
Townsend Lane, L6
Network Rail will be carrying out repairs to the railway bridge under a full road closure from 8pm 12th May until 1pm on 13th May.
Tunnel Road, L7
P Hughes Construction will be undertaking footway reconstruction works under off-peak lane restrictions from 14th to 16th May.
Walton Lane, L4
The North West Gas Alliance will be undertaking gas main renewal works from the 15th May until the 22nd June. This will be carried out under single lane restrictions.
Windsor Street / North Hill Street, L8
Enterprise Liverpool ongoing highway improvements works means 4-way traffic signals until 11th May 2012.
