Community Crime Fighter Scheme

The Community Crime Fighter Scheme provides members of the public with the support they need to help tackle crime and antisocial behaviour within their neighbourhood while working alongside services such as the Police and the Council.

Around 350 Community Crime Fighters are already active across Liverpool - often as a member of a neighbourhood watch scheme, resident or tenants’ associations, or simply by organising their own community activities.

What does a Crime Fighter do?

Alan Brown has long been something of a neighbourhood champion with many years experience and a deep knowledge of his Picton community.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team knew that Alan would make a first class Community Crime Fighter and after a short initial training session Alan has become a strong advocate for the principles behind Justice Seen Justice Done which focus on ensuring that the criminal justice system is on the side of the law abiding citizen.

Alan has been hands on too - from spending a day with the Anti Social Behaviour Unit to his work on the tenants and residents board of Liverpool Housing Trust - it’s all about making life better in what is one of Liverpool's most challenging areas.

In his role as Community Crime Fighter he has secured the help of the Community Payback team to clear waste ground in the area and has helped provide a security pack for elderly residents in private properties who he believes sometimes slip through the net.
