When to join
You must join a housing association before you can apply for social rented housing.
Housing associations are required to make half of their empty properties available to the council to offer to suitable applicants from their register. When a property is available, the council nominates suitable applicants from the waiting list in accordance with its allocation policy.
How to join
Go to the Propertypool website and complete the online application form.
If you prefer you can download and complete a paper application form, or pick one up from any One Stop Shop.
About Propertypool
Propertypool is Liverpool’s choice based lettings service. It offers people who want to rent affordable housing more choice over the property and area you would like to live in.
Once you have joined and been accepted you can log on to Propertypool and choose which property you are interested in, based on your housing needs and priority.
Are all Liverpool housing associations on Propertypool?
No. You will find an up to date list of participating landlords on the Propertypool ‘contact us’ section.
If you want to register with housing associations which are not on Propertypool, you can apply directly with each landlord. View the list of housing associations.
Some housing associations also maintain their own housing registers in addition to Propertypool. These include Cobalt Housing, Liverpool Housing Trust and Pierhead Housing Association. You can make direct or dual applications to these landlords.
