Facilities and archive material

You can access original archives, records and local studies material. This service is provided for those who are unable to obtain the archives they need at Central Library's temporary site at Liverpool Museum. Please note that the most popular family and local history material is available at the museum site. 

During the refurbishment, our temporary satellite archive service is available by appointment only.

• A photocopier is available.
• There are no refreshment facilities on site but you are welcome to bring your own refreshments to eat and drink in the reception area.
• All standard search rules apply, such as using pencils only, handling documents carefully, leaving coats and bags in the coin operated lockers provided (£1 returnable).

Contact the Records Office to arrange an appointment.

Advance notice of at least 24 hours must be given but more notice is preferred where possible. This is to ensure that material can be located and provided in time and that a seat is available. Also, please note that some material will require a longer period of notice than the minimum 24 hours because it is stored in another location.
