Online Payments
Liverpool City Council has introduced the facility for citizens to pay online with a credit or debit card for the services listed below.
What services can I pay for?
You can now pay your council tax, poll tax, business rates, mortgages/service charges, car park fines or general debts (where you have been issued with an invoice and have a debtor account number) over the internet using any of the cards listed below.

- Solo
- Switch
- Maestro (formerly Switch)
- Visa
Please note we can only accept Council Tax, Poll Tax and Business Rates payments by Debit card only.
Is it safe?
YES. We will receive your credit details using a secure server. This means the transaction is encrypted between your computer and the council's server.
If you wish to test the secure status of our server for yourself, click on the BT Trustwise logo on the left hand side of the form.
Process
Once your debit/credit card details have been submitted to us and your bank or credit card company has approved the payment, the payment will be processed within one working day.

Invoice Enquiries (This facility is for sundry debts only - not Council Tax, Poll Tax, Rents or Parking Fines)
You can make enquiries about invoices which you have received from the City Council by clicking on the link below and quoting your invoice or account number. You will receive a reply within 24 hours. Please note that this facility relates only to accounts where invoices are issued.
