Coronavirus update - Lifestyles
All centres (including Liverpool Tennis Centre) remain closed until further notice. Read more about what this means for you.
We are working hard to make sure that centres are ready to reopen when the government says it is safe to do so.
Swim Academy Programme
Swim Academy Liverpool follows Swim England's Learn to Swim framework and the guidance and expected standards set out by Swim England. The children are taught by qualified instructors and follow Swim England's Award Scheme.
Swim Academy Liverpool is structured into five categories and swimmers will progress to the next group when all competencies have been satisfied according to Swim England's expected standards. We will continuously assess ability, speed and progression, which will vary depending on the individual. You will be notified of progression to the next group by the swimming instructor. Get in touch if you want to learn to swim with us.
Non-swimmers: Perfect for those starting their swimming journey. Focuses on water confidence and is linked to Swim England's foundation stage.
Beginners/Improvers: At the end of this stage your child will be able to enter the water safely and swim 10-15 metres on their front and back.
Improvers/Advanced 1 and 2: At the end of this stage your child will be able to perform a horizontal stationary scull on their back, swim 10 metres with clothes on and more.
Advanced +: At the end of this stage your child will be able to swim all 4 strokes for a minimum of 25 metres and perform a sitting dive.
Skill specific: For children who have completed stage 7 and are now ready to progress to specific aquatic disciplines to build stamina and technique. At most pools, sessions last 45 minutes.
